IRS Expands IP PIN Program
The IRS announced starting in January, the Identity Protection PIN (“IP PIN”) Opt-In Program will be expanded to all taxpayers who can adequately verify their identities. Please visit the IRS IP PIN webpage in January 2021 if you would like to opt-in to the IP PIN program. Once you receive your new IP PIN, forward a copy to us, as we will not be able to efile your tax return without this number.
Currently, the IP PIN service is offline, however visit the webpage in January 2021 to obtain your IP PIN. Once on the website, scroll down to the blue “Get an IP PIN” button. Then follow the wizard to authenticate your identity.
